Born on 23rd May 1991, Ananjan, is a uniquely gifted individual born in one of the most prestigious musical families of the contemporary times. He is the son of the prominent and one of the most respected Hindusthani classical vocalists of all time, Padmashree Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty is internationally well acclaimed and also the founder of the unique institution called 'Shrutinandan' for children along with his wife Smt. Chandana Chakraborty. Smt. Chandana Chakraborty, is herself an acclaimed vocalist as well as the esteemed Prinicpal of the institution. His elder sister Kaushiki Chakraborty, is another prodigee, trained in the tradition of Hindusthani Classical Vocals from father Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and the future torch bearer of the 'Shrutinandan Concept'.
Ananjan is himself trained in the Shrutinandan concept and his teachers were: Bidhan Mitra, Sutapa Bhattacharya, Chiranjib Chakrabarty and Brajeswar Mukherjee, who are the disciples of Ajoy Chakrabarty himself. He equally showed interest in vocal and rhythmic instrumental music. He has taken tutelage in Tabla under Shri Mallar Ghosh, the illustrious son of the all-time great Indian Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh.
In 2000, he had received a great opportunity to be amidst the grandeur and richness of Indian Classical music while travelling to his father's overseas concerts in United States, Canada and United Kingdom. At his own efforts and initiation, he composed musical soirees via computer programming. His greatest inspiration behind the compositions is Ustad Zakir Hussain, one of the most renowned tabla player of the world.
After having completed his education by successfully excelling in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations under West Bengal Board, his intense affinity towards music, rhythm and sound had led to his admission to the Digital Academy in Mumbai under the celebrated sound designer/engineer Mr. Daman Sood. After breaking records and successfully completed his course in the Digital Academy, he returned to Kolkata and started applying his experiences to the newly established studio at Shrutinandan which would benefit the pupils of Shrutinandan and beyond, having affinity for music. After he returned, Ananjan started his hands on experiments at the Studio of Shrutinandan. His love and dedication towards sound designing, arranging and production is a positive indication of his glowing future in this aspect.
CAREER IN PRODUCTION: After Ananjan passed out from Digital Academy, Mumbai, in 2012, he was fortunate to travel to the United States with his father as his personal Live Sound Engineer. There, he got the rare opportunity to do a short-term internship course of Sound and Recording Arts at Omen Room Studios, Los Angeles, USA under Mr Matt Borden.
In 2013 January, Ananjan financed and produced his first album named 'Sur Prabaaha' a Tribute to his father at the 60th Birthday Celebration, which was the first product of Studio Shrutinandan.He composed, produced music, recorded and mixed the full album.
Ananjan also recorded his first Indian Classical Music Album, 'New Signature', featuring Shri Deborshee Bhattacharya, a student of Shrutinandan, which was released by none other than Ustad Zakir Hussain, at the Science City Auditorium, Kolkata.
In March, 2013 Ananjan was very lucky to be present for 10 long days music recording Sessions at Yash Raj Studios while the Bollywood Musical Trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy was composing songs for the Film , '2 States'.
In 2014, Ananjan worked as Composer, Music Arranger and a Sound Engineer in a pop album named 'Mashruf' featuring Ms. Anasmita Ghosh. He also produced music in another album named, 'Khawahishein' by Ms. Sayani Palit. This year he bagged his first Award - He had been awarded the Indian Recording Arts Award by Mr K J Singh (Mixing Engineer of popular Music Director Mr A R Rahman) as the 'Best Upcoming Mixing Engineer in Film Music' for his album 'Sur Prabaaha'. Ananjan also produced his first Music Video with his elder sister Kaushiki, named 'Tomari Geeti' a tribute song to his father and the Great Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh which got around 50,000 views in YouTube and other Social Media. This year, he started learning Western Classical Piano from Trinity College of London under the the tutelage of Mr Jyotiska Dasgupta.
In 2015, Ananjan recorded and produced music for his elder sister, Kaushiki in her first Non-Film Indian Pop Music Album named, 'Karvaan', released by 'Times Music', which got popular all over the country.
In these years he has recorded many songs with eminent Music Directors namely, Mr Indradeep Dasgupta, Mr Shantanu Maitra, Mr Bickram Ghosh, Mr Mayookh Bhaumik, Mr Anindya Chatterjee from The Bengali Film Industry and Mr M Ghibran, Mr Ramesh Vinaykram from the South Indian Film Industry. Ananjan have produced and mixed a few songs for Films like Parampara, Paanch Adhyay, Teen Kanya, Prakton to name a few. Ananjan have also produced music, recorded and mixed a few albums like Twittering by students of Shrutinanadan, Oblation by Shri Brajeswar Mukherjee and many more.
Ananjan have deep interest to work for the New Generation Musicians and Music Producers of his time to give them the maximum exposure to the mass and the industry. He is regularly conducting Short term Online Crash Courses of Music Production and Music Business to give maximum benefit to the independent young aspiring musicians of the country in order to preserve the musicality and make the world a better place to breathe in.
